What is Level Up

Where young athletes get built.

Level Up is youth strength & performance training in San Mateo — coached for the athlete's age, never copied from an adult program, and never a place where a kid gets lost in the crowd.

Small groups. Real coaching from real experience — head coach Jesse Jones is a retired professional MMA fighter, an award-winning youth coach, and most proudly, an athlete dad. He built the Level Up program: strength and speed for growing athletes — a quicker first step, more pop in the batter's box, a body that holds up all season.

He means the dad part — Level Up is the gym he'd want for his own kids. This fall it gets a new home — and founding members get in at the very start.

Real coaching

Built and led by Coach Jesse — dialed to each athlete, not a big-box gym where kids get lost.

Small groups

Individual attention in a group setting. We see your athlete, not a crowd.

Age-appropriate coaching

Strength and speed programmed for the athlete's age and stage — done right, and done safely.

Built for the sport

Basketball, baseball, and beyond — a faster first step, a stronger swing, fewer nagging injuries. The work that shows up in-season.

The founding offer

Good to know

Questions, answered.

What is a founding membership?

A locked-in rate for our first 80 memberships, sold in 4 rounds of 20. Each round's rate is a step higher than the last, and whatever rate you join at is yours for as long as you stay — even as our standard rates go up. It's our thank-you for believing early.

Is strength training safe for kids?

Yes — when it's coached right. Every session runs on Coach Jesse's program for growing athletes, in a small coached group. The "stunts your growth" myth comes from kids lifting unsupervised decades ago — today's research says the opposite: quality, age-appropriate strength work makes growing athletes more durable and less injury-prone.

What ages is this for?

Youth athletes — middle school through high school. Programming scales to the athlete.

What sports do you train for?

A lot of our athletes play basketball, baseball, and softball — the facility has a batting cage and a basketball shooting machine — and some of the strongest athletes on our floor are girls. The work translates to every sport: if your athlete runs, jumps, or swings, this is for them.

When does the new space open?

Soft opening September 1, grand opening Saturday, October 3 in San Mateo. Founding members get in first.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime with 30 days' notice — it's month to month, no long contract. One thing to know: cancelling ends your founding rate. As long as you stay, it never goes up.
